Research Interest

Dr. Resnick's research focus is Psychiatric Rehabilitation, defined as helping individuals with long-term psychiatric difficulties improve their levels of psychosocial functioning in activities of their choosing. Active research projects include the evaluation of the national dissemination and implementation of supported employment in the VA, the use of strengths-oriented positive psychology in psychiatric rehabilitation, and peer support and education. Current theoretical interests include the meaning and use of the word recovery, and the gradually shifting "roles" of professionals and consumers in recovery-oriented service systems.
