Yale Behavioral Health
Yale Behavioral Health (YBH) is a program established under the aegis
of the Department of Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine.
It is designed to meet the clinical, managerial, training, and consultative
needs of state and city governments, hospitals, and community, behavioral
health organizations. It meets these needs by combining state-of-the-art
clinical services with strategies for efficiently managing care.

Yale Behaviorial Health Services (YBHS)
YBHS is a licensed outpatient mental health and substance abuse agency.
It offers individual, group, and family therapy as well as pharmacotherapy.
The agency provides treatment for a broad spectrum and severity of
problems. It specializes in the care of adults with severe mental
illness. Grants from the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and
Addiction Services and the Town of Hamden make it possible for the
agency to serve uninsured individuals who are residents of Hamden.
Insured individuals from Hamden and all surrounding towns are offered
treatment as well. Location:

Adolescent
Mental Health Consultation in Juvenile Detention Settings
Juvenile Detention Mental Health Program
YBH provides on-site mental health evaluations and supportive clinical
services for juvenile detainees through a contract with the Court
Support Services Division,, Judicial Branch, State of Connecticut.
The program also provides trainings to juvenile detention staff.

Vocational
Services
Workers Achieving Gainful Employment
WAGE is a progressive vocational program that serves individuals
with severe and persistent mental illness. Designed to place clients
in the community with competitive job placements, it draws upon
its long history of effectively managing clinically based syndromes
with an individual's autonomy and independence needed to work.

Employee
Assistance Programs YBH draws upon
its extensive clinical, administrative and managed care experience
to direct EAP programming. YBH offers services to address mental
health, substance abuse and work adjustment issues. On-site seminars
include conflict resolution and management of work related stress.
If indicated, fitness for duty evaluations are performed.

Crisis
Services YBH specializes in the
development of after-hours crisis services for the management of
public sector and commercially based patients. Designed to avoid
unnecessary utilization of emergency rooms, staff are trained in
state-of-the-art assessment techniques, determination of appropriate
level of care and in the management of individuals with psychiatric
and dual disorders who are termed high utilizers of service.

Therapeutic
Junior and Senior High School
The Cedarhurst School Cedarhurst
School is a private therapeutic school operated by Yale University.
Serving as a junior and senior high school for grades 7-12, it offers
a structured and supportive learning environment for students who
have difficulty functioning in the mainstream. The population served
includes the full range of psychiatric disorders, moderate to severe
externalizing disorders and learning disorders. Services are targeted
to provide a sound interface between the educational and clinical
needs of the students.
