Education
1994, BA University of California Berkeley
1999, PhD University of California, SF
2001, MD University of California, SF

Research Interests
Maternal care early in life establishes a developmental trajectory that programs vulnerability to stress across a broad range of mammalian species. We are currently testing the hypothesis that at least some aspects of this maternally mediated developmental programming is mediated by the ability of maternal care to regulate neurogenesis during early development and in adulthood.
