A VIEW OF THE SANATORIUM BUILDINGS

View of William Wirt Winchester Hospital

In 1884, the "Little Red Cottage" at Saranac Lake was the introduction to the splendid Sanatorium plan which exists today. Here the patient may receive the benefit of all the expert medical and nursing skill known to science.
The buildings are so constructed as to include both the necessary shelter and an opportunity to enjoy a maximum of pure fresh air, and sunlight.
In Connecticut at the five sanatoria there is a provision of one bed for every annual death.
New Haven residents may be cared for at any of these State sanatoria, or at Wallingford, or at the William Wirt Winchester Hospital at Allingtown.
