THE PATIENT BACK AT WORK
If the case is diagnosed in the early stages of the diease and proper treatment carried out, it is not unreasonable to expect that the patient will eventually be able to return to work fully restored to original efficiency. Certain hygenic working conditions are necesary in preventing a relapse. Adequate ventilation, proper lighting and an atmosphere free from dust are essential to the well-being of all workers; but to no group is this mroe essential than the ex-sanatorium patient. Work that produces a minimum amount of fatigue is highly desirable. A sitting position will require less exertion and consequently will provide more rest for the repaired lung tissue. Freedom from too close contact with fellow workers also has many advantages. |
