THE ROLE OF THE XMAS SEALS The Xmas seal so common to every community was brought into being for the prpose of raising funds from voluntary sources to supplement the appropriation made by State and local communities to fight tuberculosis. It naturally followed that funds raised in this manner should go first to carry on a persistent educational campaign, such as literature dealing with tuberculosis, subsidizing visiting nursing activities and the like. There are times, howver, when funds are needed to do some of the more material things, such as maintaining worthy patients in Sanatoria and supplying milk in some homes where other funds are not available.
