THE TUBERCULIN TEST

Thus far it would seem as though all the efforts of the program had been directed toward getting the patient to the Sanatorium. On the contrary, the preventive work began on the first visit of the Nurse in the home, when she may have had opportunity to explain the nature of tuberculosis infection; so that she has now secured the cooperation of the family for the examination of all the children who were in contact with the patient. It is particularly helpful in very small children where th e earliest stages of infection can be detected, and thus a course of procedure outlined. The procedure is simple and not unlike the Schick Test. The physicians and the tuberculosis clinics provide this service.
