There are three tracks available to the physician interested in futhering their career in geriatric Medicine. All three tracks must include one year of clinical geriatric medicine. If you have completed a year of a fellowship in geriatric medicine at your current institution, but are not privy to expanded training, you may apply to either our geriatric educator track or the geriatric research track (research track is only available to US Citzens or Permanent Residents - See Training Program).
Below is a short description of each Fellowship Track:
Each fellow will gain formal training in teaching, will be the primary educator for medical students, internal medicine residents, and specialists, e.g., residents and faculty in surgery and gynecology. Fellows will learn how to use a variety of resources, including web-based teaching materials, virtual patients, small-group workshops for medical students, resident curriculum design, and program evaluation.

The Yale program provide intensive research training for physicians interested in evaluating and developing innovative approaches to the care of older people. Clinical epidemiology is the "basic science" which provides rigorous methods for the investigation of clinical strategies, medical decision-making, outcomes, ethics, health policy and delivery of care.
