Services Offered by the TS/OCD Clinic

The Tic Disorder/Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Specialty Clinic offers outpatient evaluations for children and adolescents with OCD and children, adolescents, and adults with tic disorders, including Tourette syndrome.

Prior to scheduling an appointment, we send an intake packet to the family, which includes a detailed questionnaire about the patient's tic symptoms as well as any obsessive-compulsive symptoms (which often, but not always, accompany tic disorders). We review that information as well as any additional reports of previous evaluations, school information, etc. that will help us decide on the most appropriate treatments to recommend.

The clinic visit itself is approximately two hours with at least on of the Specialty Clinic's attending faculty members and child psychiatry and psychology fellows. A detailed written report of the consultation is prepared for the family. What follows after that visit will depend upon the findings and varies greatly depending on the needs of the child and family.
