Talk about the times
of the day and the days of the week with young children:
“On Thursdays, we go to storytime at the library.”
“At seven o’clock is bath time.”
Hang a calendar in
a place where a child can see, and make a weekly or monthly
planner. Discuss any of the child’s activities: preschool,
visits with family or friends, or any weekly activity.
Expose a child to
the clock, but keep in mind that children don’t typically
learn to tell time until after they are seven years old.
When a child can recognize numbers, begin pointing out how
to tell time.
